Past Experiences with Gorillaz

Okay. There is something about my experience when I first saw Gorillaz LIVE at the Byblos Festival right when they announced their World Tour, that I have failed to even mention for the longest time. When I saw them at July 20th of this year, their was some incredible moments that I couldn't believe was happening. XD

Where do I begin?

Well to start off, I'm going to list them:

-When I got to Byblos two hours before they let people in the gate, (It was an Outdoor Concert), heard Bobby Womack rehearsing "Cloud of Unknowing" so clear I started to sing along as I strolled down the alley haha. I don't know I think it's cool to sing At the same time and place as them.

OH BUT HERE COMES THE AMAZING  PART.

- We were sitting in a restaurant quite literally in front of the gate. So I was sitting there ordering some daiquiris at the bar WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN Damon Albarn, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon, Mos Def, Bobby Womack, the back-up singers, all the rappers and the rest ofthe musicians come waltzing in from behind!!!!! At first when I saw the back of Damon's head I literally froze and had a face like this O_________O Hahah I was telling myself no way no how that could be him! And then you see the band members in sailor outfits and such. I. Could. Not. Believe. IT. I was sitting 10 feet away from them! Haha I caught Mos Def chuckling at the side of the table because of my face and Bobby Womack at one point played a 30 second staring contest from his seat at me. We tried to get a photo with Damon but his security guard said after their meal. but that didn't happen. XD At least my little sister poked his left shoulder. Hahaa!

-Well when they left and we got passed the gate, We made it all the way to the front of the floor, so we stood front of the incredible Mick Jones throughout the whole concert! It wasn't easy at first but we managed to budge right in that spot! Haha!

- Also, During the concert, I believe during "Clint Eastwood" or "Empire Ants", Damon had a plastic water bottle and just splashed us with it without warning! ....I got to keep the bottle.

-At the end, the crew handed about 10 drumsticks from the stage AND WE GOT ONE! It's in my room right beside me! Plus we bought the Time Magazine with the Gorillaz cover from Beirut. It's still in it's plastic case.

One thing I was having a laugh about was that I was at BEIRUT. Meaning this is the city where 2D supposedly was hiding out before Murdoc gassed him and took him to Plastic Beach

Anyway I'm heading out to see them once again this Friday. And I'm sure it'll be incredible. And they finally got new MERCH. And Jamie, one of my favorite artists of all time, will be there.
